CM assures relief to hailstorm-affected farmers

antyoday_melaBhopal,  Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the State Government will leave no stone unturned in providing relief and assistance to hailstorm-affected farmers. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing district-level Antyodaya Mela here today.
At the fair, benefits worth about Rs. 54 were distributed to 75 thousand beneficiaries under various schemes.
CM Shri Chouhan said that a number of schemes have been chalked out to make Madhya Pradesh a pioneer state. Constant efforts are being made to increase income of the poor and making available benefits of development to them.
The State Government has decided to give patta of lands where poor people living by constructing shanties.
Places in cities will be earmarked for habilitating labourers coming over there in search of employment. Late Shri Deendayal Upadhyay used to say that worship of God lies in service to the downtrodden. Antyodaya Melas are being held keeping this in view where benefits of various schemes are provided to beneficiaries at a single place. Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana for youths will be implemented from April 1.
Under the scheme loan guarantee upto Rs. 25 lakh for setting up industries and 5 percent interest subsidy for 5 years will given by the State Government. Higher education loan guarantee scheme has also been chalked out for youths under which the State Government will be given loan guarantee. Arrangements for free medicines and tests have been made for the poor at government hospitals.

Bhopal toxic waste should not be thrown in Dhar

toxic-wasteAfter a lot of hullabalu around the Bhopal gas tragedy, the government has finally taken a step which is worth noting. The group of ministers (GoM) has vetoed a request that asked for dumping3 47 metric tonnes of toxic waste of the Union Carbide’s Bhopal plant at Pithampur-based Treatment Storage Disposal Facility (TSDF) in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
Talking to media, Babulal Gaur, urban administration and development minister in the Madhya Pradesh government said that the GoM has decided against dumping of toxic as it will lead to serious concerns about the environment.
The government will decide on a new site which will be more suitable for safe disposal of the waste. The GoM had declared that it will be paying an additional Rs. 72 crore to the families of the gas victims who have not been covered till now.
GoM is being headed by Home Minister, P Chidambaram along with law minister Veerappa Moily, health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, environment minister Jairam Ramesh.
Jairam had visited the site of Pithampur in July and was greeted with local protests which was attended by local residents.

A delegation of working journalist union of Madhya Pradesh met the Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. The delegation presented a memento of symposium to the Chief Minister. It may be mentioned here that the working journalist union of Madhya Pradesh organized a symposium on the role of media in maintaining harmony here the other day.
Chouhan said that the vernacular press has an important role in promotion of communal harmony and peace. He said that the media should come forward to support the efforts for maintaining law and order situation saying that the media command respect among all communities. People have faith in the media. This should be utilized constructively for peace.  Chouhan said that the state government is committed to maintaining law and order situation at all cost.
President of the working journalist union  Radha Vallabh Sharda, vice chairman of State Gaur- Samvardhan Board  Shiv Choube, vice president of Madhya Pradesh Ekta Samiti  Ramesh Sharma were present.
